2022 by Uskees | Introducing our year in review

2022. What a year.

From launching schemes that allow you to wear your clothes for longer, to popping-up in places we love, to expanding our collection with basics and accessories, here’s our best bits of the year, from the team at Uskees HQ.

In January, we launched our in-house repair service, giving more life to loved garments.

In February, we began a year-round collaboration with urban gardeners PLANT NOMA, kitting them out as they bring wilderness back into Manchester city centre.

In March, founder Paul visited some of our suppliers in Coimbatore, India.

In April, we were thrilled to have some of our pieces stocked in The V&A Museum in London, on sale as part of the Fashioning Masculinities exhibition.

In May, we headed to L.A. for the opening of a new Wolf & Badger store! Well, our stock did. We stayed in Manchester.

In June, we launched our basics range  organic cotton, enzyme-washed pieces to refresh your everyday wardrobe.

In July, we continued to kit out lots of amazing restaurants, bars, coffee shops and florists, like Maray in Manchester.

In August, we refreshed our app with better functionality and sweet perks for users.

September was a busy one. We held our first ever in-person event  A pop-up in a brewery  at Track in Manchester, and then Joe Lycett had a very viral grapefruit moment.

October was all about hats and socks, we launched our ‘head to toe’ collection of knitted-in-Scotland accessories.

Our #3001 got the Edward Hopper treatment at the Whitney Museum in New York in November. An original Hopper sketch was screen printed onto our overshirt in collaboration with a major retrospective of his work.

In December, we launched  and sold out of  our made-in-house deadstock bags. We also slow-gifted at the NOMA/New Century sustainable Christmas event, and threw darts and ate pizza at our Christmas party.

BIG thank you to everyone who collaborated with us, shopped with us, or simply checked us out on socials. We couldn’t do anything without your support. We hope you have a restful Christmas and New Year.

Can’t wait to do it all again on the other side.
