'Colour Joy' is a brand new campaign for Uskees, showcasing some new products we’re really excited about: t-shirts, shorts and summer-ready smocks, as well as established favourites too like sweatshirts.

We spoke to Uskees co-founder Paul Clapham about the ideas behind the campaign, as well as photographer George Heaton and stylist Cal Holden about how it all came to life.

“Firstly”, says Paul, “we wanted to do something which was unapologetically joyous. We take what we do seriously, but we really wanted to inject some irreverence into the campaign".

He went on to explain that “when we receive feedback from customers, it’s often around the colours of our garments. They love the variety of colours, and the dimension they add to their wardrobe. We wanted to do something which put the focus on that”.

A model sits on a low bench, with legs outstretched, touching their toes. They wear white sneakers, the #5005 Workwear Pants in Faded Black and the #7005 Sweatshirt in Faded Black.

Stylist Cal said: “It was a joy to style this campaign. The new t-shirts and shorts make really great layering pieces. The idea was to pull together colour combinations which are positive, fun and a little unexpected”.

Two models stand in front of a green background. The model on the left wears the #5005 Workwear Pants in Vine Green, the #7006 T-shirt in Army Green and the #7004 Hooded Sweatshirt in Faded Black. The model on the right adjusts his sweatshirt. They wear the #7005 Sweatshirt in Vine Green, #7006 T-shirt in Army Green and dark denim jeans.

The shoot itself was fairly simple: models, backdrops, plants, space hoppers, and loads of energy. Photographer George said “there were two words which inspired this shoot: colour – of course – and also motion”.

Two models stand in front of a yellow background. Two rectangular flags read “anti landfill” and “built to last”. The model on the left wears the #7004 Hooded Sweatshirt in Yellow and the #5005 Workwear Pants in Navy, along with a navy blue hat. The model on the right wears the #7004 Hooded Sweatshirt in Ultra Blue, the #3032 Tie Neck Smock in Midnight Blue and the #7007 Shorts in Navy.

He added: “We wanted to capture as much energy and spontaneity as possible, with the models expressing freedom and fun. It’s definitely a summer shoot, but we also think it’s a philosophy of mood-lifting dressing you can take you through the whole year".
