Colour Joy | A new campaign for Uskees
'Colour Joy' is a brand new campaign for Uskees, showcasing some new products we’re really excited about: t-shirts, shorts and summer-ready smocks, as well as established favourites too like sweatshirts.
We spoke to Uskees co-founder Paul Clapham about the ideas behind the campaign, as well as photographer George Heaton and stylist Cal Holden about how it all came to life.
“Firstly”, says Paul, “we wanted to do something which was unapologetically joyous. We take what we do seriously, but we really wanted to inject some irreverence into the campaign".
He went on to explain that “when we receive feedback from customers, it’s often around the colours of our garments. They love the variety of colours, and the dimension they add to their wardrobe. We wanted to do something which put the focus on that”.
Stylist Cal said: “It was a joy to style this campaign. The new t-shirts and shorts make really great layering pieces. The idea was to pull together colour combinations which are positive, fun and a little unexpected”.
The shoot itself was fairly simple: models, backdrops, plants, space hoppers, and loads of energy. Photographer George said “there were two words which inspired this shoot: colour – of course – and also motion”.
He added: “We wanted to capture as much energy and spontaneity as possible, with the models expressing freedom and fun. It’s definitely a summer shoot, but we also think it’s a philosophy of mood-lifting dressing you can take you through the whole year".
This campaign features the #7006 T-shirt in Gold, Teal, and Vine Green, the #7007 Shorts in Gold and Teal, as well as the #3032 Tie Neck Smock in Orange, Teal and Navy.
