2023 by Uskees

It's been a busy year at Uskees; we've introduced new fabrics, styles and colours, and there's still much more to come.

We've been spreading the Uskees word with like-minded businesses and hosting pop-ups so that you can see our products in person.

In June we partnered with UNITOM, an independent visual-arts-oriented bookshop in Manchester’s Northern Quarter and hosted a launch event, which was a great success and an excellent opportunity for us to meet you in person.

The pop-up drew visitors from far and wide; even Chris Martin made an appearance!

September marked the return of the popular Uskees pop-up in a Brewery, at Track Brewery Taproom. This event featured a day of DJs, live music, pizza, beer and a chance to shop the Uskees range. There was also the return of the famous "Wheel of Doesn't Cost a Fortune."

From pop-ups to stockists with a twist, this year has also seen us stocked in prestigious art galleries across the country.

Art is at the core of what we're about, so naturally our clothes go hand in hand with artists and creatives.

Earlier this year, we were honoured to be approached by the National Portrait Gallery in London to be stocked in their gift shop as part of the David Hockney, Drawing from Life Exhibition.

Away from Trafalgar Square and across the Thames on London’s Southbank, we were also stocked within the TATE Modern to coincide with the brilliant Philip Guston exhibition.

Back over to West London, we were stocked in the fantastic V&A Museum as part of the Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear exhibition. This was a great opportunity to play a small part in a brilliant exhibition covering designers, artists, pop culture icons, and how menswear has evolved alongside masculinity.

This year also saw us introduce another installment of our deadstock initiative. Using deadstock fabrics to avoid any waste, we elevated archived products and enhanced their designs to bring you a range of four new utility-inspired bags: the drill basin bag, bucket bag, barrel bag, and canvas tote. Pieces of kit you'll reach for every day, made from deadstock drill and canvas fabric.

We’re always playing music in the Uskees office, whether we’re designing, shipping orders, or writing blogs - it’s always on.

We wanted to share with you some of the stuff we’re listening to at the minute, and since May we’ve been sharing with you the Uskees 8, our monthly playlist of eight great tracks.

From all of us at Uskees, all the best for 2024 and thank you for your continued support.
