Fieldnotes 011 | Form SE15

There’s more to London than the W1 postcode, go South of the Thames and there’s plenty more to be discovered.

In Peckham you’ll find a store evidently proud of their location, Form SE15, Uskees stockist and the subject of this month’s edition of Fieldnotes.

From shoes, homeware, stationary and knitwear. Jo, the director of the store has curated a range of products that blend together beautfully. It's impossible to pigeonhole this store, but that's definetely its stregnth.

We caught up with Jo to give us the lowdown.

Jo, it’s lovely to meet you. As the Director of Form SE15, who better than you to tell us a bit about your store.

Form SE15 is an independent store curated with a positive, colourful and sustainable approach on Bellenden Road, Peckham in south London. I started the shop back in May 2018 with very little funding but a lot of determination!

We stock choice womenswear, menswear, footwear and gifts and put plenty of thought and heart into the selections we make to get it right for our customers. We are passionate about having a range of pieces that are brilliant quality, spark joy and are carefully considered.

You offer a wide range of great products, your colourful approach is definitely something that lends itself really well to Uskees. How do you choose what to stock?

Sustainability is a huge factor because of how detrimental to society fast fashion is: our motto has always been ‘Buy Better, Buy Less’. All of our brands offer options that are organic, recycled and sometimes both! We value amazing quality, long lasting wear and the feel good factor combined as our main factors for our choices. I will always support more female owned small brands too!

Buy Better, Buy Less is a great motto, and one we certainly agree with. How does Uskees fit in for you at the store?

Uskees really fits like a glove here in Peckham, a lot of our customers love the utility/workwear look because it offers so many wearable options for everyday use that can take you into a night out. The quality, durability and design is fantastic along with the consideration Uskees takes committing to a responsible and ethical approach to manufacturing and repair.

It feels like there’s a great blend of the old and new in Peckham, with lots going on. What’s great about it for you?

Peckham has so many unique qualities, it has such a strong sense of community and people really care about the area.  I’ve lived in SE15 for 20 years now during which time it has changed but it’s really kept its heart and soul, it’s chock full of creative people too and I always find that helps keep a place young at heart!

It’s full of like minded small businesses that want to keep it a really positive and soulful place to live.

We also have some of the best restaurants, bars and pubs so it’s great for hanging out and meeting up with friends too.

Where else should people check out in Peckham?

Wow, well that’s difficult to narrow down because it’s so great for lots of things so I’ll stick to food and drinks choices! Some favorites would be our neighbors The Sourcing Table for great wine and snacks, Forza Wine for its cocktails and perfect rooftop bar and views and Mr Bao for uber tasty Taiwanese bao buns and sweet food flavours.

How would you style up a Uskees product?

Jo: I’m a huge fan of getting the absolute utmost wearability out of your wardrobe which I think Uskees pieces are perfect for as it’s so versatile. I’d layer up the patch pocket canvas vest over an enzyme washed oversized tee and through a colourful cotton twill overshirt over both for perfect transeasonal dressing.

What would be your three essential items in your store?

My new favourite is our Uskees #3001 overshirt in Gold, great for brightening up any look! Then maybe an Evermore Moon candle and a Tenth Muse perfume on Date Night…but that’s a tough decision!

Next time you’re in London, cross one of the many bridges and head south of the river and pay a visit to Form SE15.

Thank you to Jo for taking part in this edition of fieldnotes and be sure to check out their instagram account over @formse15
